How it works
At eQuip Books, one of the ways we keep our shelves stocked is through our Trade-In and Buyback program.
Here's how it works:
- You bring us things you want to sell.
- We use the most up-to-date and comprehensive software available to calculate the resale value of your items.
- You get your money for the items we are able to purchase.
- If we are unable to purchase some items, you may trade them in for store credit.
It’s a win for both parties! You get rid of unwanted stuff, and get money or store credit in return. We get new stuff for our store, which makes our other customers happy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of things do you buy?
We are interested in new and used books, CDs, DVDs, video games, and computer software. In order for us to buy these items, they need to be in good condition or better and there should be a demand for them in the marketplace.
How do I know if there is a demand for my items?
Since marketplace demand is constantly changing, the best thing to do is to bring your items to us for an evaluation. We have in-house software and trained associates who can quickly appraise your items.
Are there any kinds of items you don’t buy?
We do not purchase items that are sexually explicit and/or otherwise offensive. We also do not purchase encyclopedia sets, magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed versions, Book Club Editions, or Advanced Reader’s Editions.
How does the trade-in program work?
If we are unable to purchase any of the items you bring to us, we are always happy to offer store credit for them. We’ll stack your items in a pile and measure the height of the pile. For every six inches of items, we offer one product in store credit. So if you bring us a foot worth of books, you can trade them in for two free items of your choosing. If you’d like, we can keep track of your credit and you can use it at a later date. You can even transfer your credit to a family member or friend.
What about old books? Do you buy these?
We are happy to look at your older books, though we are not experts in rare or antiquarian items.
Do you buy VHS tapes, records, and cassette tapes?
No. We will gladly accept them as donations, but we cannot offer any money for them.
If I bring items in for appraisal and you don’t want to buy them, do I have to cart them all back home?
No. We are happy to recycle any unwanted items for you.
When can I bring my items in?
You can bring items for appraisal any time we are open for business. Generally, we ask that you come at least 30 minutes prior to closing so we have adequate time to assist you. If you are bringing a large collection to us, please come at least an hour prior to closing.
How will you pay me for the things I sell you?
We pay cash for almost everything we purchase. In rare instances, when buying a large collection, we may instead pay with a check that can be easily cashed at a local bank.
I have a lot of stuff to sell. Can you come to me?
We are happy to evaluate larger collections on site. If you have something you’d like us to consider, please call 724.788.1747 or send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . If your collection seems like something we might be interested in buying, we can arrange a convenient meeting time.
